Technological University (Monywa) was established in 1982 as Technological High School. In 1986 it became Government Technical Institute. In 1999 it was promoted to Government Technical College. In 2007 the school was promoted to university level. It was officially recognized by the Ministry of Education (Science and Technology) of Myanmar.It is located on a 51.15 acres campus in Myaynae Village, Monywa Township, Sagaing Division, Republic of the Union of Myanmar. It is near Sambuddhe Pagoda on Bohditahtaung Road about 12.41 kilometres from the Clock Tower of Monywa. Technological University (Monywa) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.
Technological University (Monywa) has adopted Quality Management System meeting the University’s statutory and regulatory requirements and ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements in 2018 and is attempting to achieve M.Eng.C Accrediation.
