BIOGRAPHY

Professor Myo Nyunt was born in 1964, and graduated from Rangoon Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1987. With Bachelor’s degree in mining, he worked as an assistant mining engineer at Kyaukpahtoe Gold Mine Project starting in1988. In 1992, he joined RIT as an instructor in the Department of Mining Engineering. His interest has been in the field of environmental conservation, assessment and management since then. He earned his Ph.D from Yangon Technological University (YTU) in 2004 and worked as the professor and head of Department of Mining Engineering, YTU from 2009 to 2015. He led the Environmental Management Committee of Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) as the Chairman for 6 years and has been a Councilor of Myanmar Engineering Council since 2013. He is also a member of EIA Review Committee of Environmental Conservation Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
